Don't mess with the west coast Veronica West sat on a park bench facing the ocean. The sun was setting casting pink and orange light over the calm ocean. Birds flew on the cool breeze, drifting in the right sky. But in this picturesque sense Veronica was very disturbed. All because of the video game she was currently play. Yes, on this cool autumn evening she was playing a video game. completely ignoring the beauty of nature around her, but when you live on the seashore it wasn't anything special. She was used to seeing sunsets over the ocean and was ,quite frankly, bored of it. But the video game on the other hand was not boring at all. She stared at the screen with wide eyes as they car rounded the corner. She was going to win the race. She would win the game!
But unfortunately she as she reached the final stretch of the race course She hit a wall and got game over. Veronica stared at the blank screen, mouth hanging open. Did I really just lose the game. Her hands shook and she stood up. She drew back her arm and threw the game into the ocean. She watched as the Game flew through the air and then landed in the cold waters, sending up a small wall of water that quickly came splashing down. She glared at the rippling water.
"STUPID GAME!" She called out into the ocean.
Veronica sat back down and scowled at the ocean. She was never going to play a video game again. She dung her hand into her pocket and grabbed her IPod and stuck in her ear buds. She started to blast some loud rock music. She got off the bench and started to walk down the small park path back towards her home.
"I am never going to play a video game again." Victoria grumbled and stared at her feet as she walked.
But as she walked she realized how bored she was. She had nothing to do now that she had thrown the game. She mentally slapped herself and then sighed. She needed to find something to do. Maybe she should visit the island to harass her sister. That might be fun. Veronica stared absently at the sky lost in her own lost. So lost, that she ran into a poll. She fell to the ground and then covered her face with her hands.
"Dammit where the hell did that poll come from." She said and glared at the poll.

The strangly dressed girl walked along the coast line in the opposite direction Veronica was going. Her long purple hair would trail behind her, trying to catch the wind. She let her fishing pole rest against her shoulder and the bucket filled with salmon hang off her left hand. The fishing line tightly wounded up, as if she just packed up. She walked silently, listening to the waves.
A polar bear would slowly follow quite some distance behind her. It wouldn't try to catch up with her, or fall behind. Was it stalking her? It couldn't have. Not being out in the open like that (unless the girl is oblivious.)
She probably knew the polar bear was following her. Not once did she turn for a quick look. She continued walking with that sullen look. It was when Veronica screamed and tossed her portable gaming device into the big blue sea that her head inched slightly to the side, her eyes following after. She wondered if it was going back home.

At times, Valerie was sure she’d been a fish in her past life. Like now for instance. Dressed in a navy swimsuit, towel draped over her arm, she stared out at the water with sparkling blue eyes. The water…. It called to her, wanting her to just take a deep breath and jump in. Forget about everything and just swim. Her fingers closed into a fist. Now wasn’t the time though was it? She had chores to do, books to read, a sister to- Throwing her towel down, Valerie West dove into the water. A soft sigh escaped her lips as the cool water hit her skin. Valerie loved swimming. Heck, she loved water in general! It was the one place she felt truly free, among the fish, plants, and the other sea creatures. Being underwater for her was… like home. It was a feeling most people didn’t understand. It was a place Valerie could escape, well, everything else.
After half an hour however, Valerie’s old concerns came waddling back, nagging and whining and generally driving the girl crazy. Finally giving up, Valerie dragged herself out of the water with a small frown. After drying herself off, the girl decided to look for her sister. Worry for the younger Veronica West was always on her mind. Not that Valerie really had any reason to worry, she just always… did. It was probably smothering and annoying, but Valerie couldn’t help it. It came with the territory of being an older sister. Wrapping her towel around her waist, Valerie wandered the streets aimlessly. Her feet would lead her to the little chicken; they always did.
They didn’t fail her now either. Valerie spotted her sister and quickened her pace a little to try to catch up with her. ”Ronnie!” she called out, but Veronica didn’t seem to hear her. She probably had her music up too loud, Valerie thought. She was about to call out again when she saw Veronica walk into… a pole. Valerie stopped, putting a hand over her mouth to stifle her laughter. An honest - to – goodness pole! How out of it could one person really be? Valerie caught up to her younger sister. ”Now now little chicken. No need to get mad at the pole.” she said softly, standing behind Veronica. She quickly stepped beside however; standing behind Veronica made her feel short.
It was then that Valerie noticed something odd. A girl, well, the girl wasn’t odd, but what was odd was the fact that a polar bear seemed to be following her. Valerie blinked, then blinked again. What the-? She leaned back and poked Veronica. ”Ronnie, is it just me or is that a polar bear?” she asked the younger girl, her voice perhaps a tad too loud. It seemed to carry.

The girl whipped her head around to look up at Veronica. Her eyes followed the footprints made in the sand and caught glimpse of Valerie. They must have visited Ottawa at least once for she recognized the two of them. Since they were never formally introduced, she couldn't get a grasp of their names, but they were familiar faces.
"He's been following me for about 90 years," she spoke bitterly. That sure was a long time, especially for someone who barely looked 15. What she said seemed to be true, as the polar bear sat down when Veronica stopped the girl.
She wasn't sure what else to say at that point. The girl had no interest for politics, let alone starting the typical idle chit chat between two people who had nothing else to do. So she anticipated the next question. Her blue eyes peering into Veronica's brown pools. [/blockquote]
