Seeing Halloween decorations around was so foreign to her, especially since there was no such celebrations back in Oslo. There were no pumpkins to carve, mainly when your pumpkins only grow to cabbage size, and candy wasn't cheap enough to just give it out to everyone. Giving a soft sigh, she adjusted her glasses while swinging her scarf pleasantly across her mouth and over her left shoulder. London was such a...busy, hectic place, Trafalgar Square especially so for its tourist attraction. Shoes lightly tapping on the concrete, Amalie absently wandered over to Nelson's Column, prim fingers touching the mouth of a bronze lion. Her fingernails caressed a tooth, feeling the cold bronze chill her skin, but weather in London was easy peasy when compared to her native home.
Sitting down on the granite, Amalie leaned her head against the lion's carved mane, eyes absently staring in the direction of where her tree would go. Normally, she'd only visit England during the Christmas season where she and Albert would meet and trim the tree together. Every December 25th, a Norway Spruce was erected in the square, one chosen by the English and lit by the Norwegians. It wasn't time to choose a tree yet, but Amalie had nothing better to do. Smiling to herself, the Scandanavian closed her eyes, resting her head and shoulders upon Nelson's leonine base.
Fallen leaves swished through the air and tumbled along the ground, playing companion to the thousands of people swarming Trafalgar Square like ants going through a colony. The sun wasn't out, despite it being mid-afternoon, and it looked so dreary with the cloud cover, casting shadows on everything.
